Membership in the Muncie Sailing Club includes those persons in the member’s immediate family, or two adults sharing a household, and the member’s dependent children. New Memberships are subject to Board approval. Memberships are not transferable.DSC06939

Membership is unrestricted to the general public living in Delaware and the adjacent counties of Blackford, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, and Wayne. This area is generally referred to as the “in area”, and all other areas are referred to as the “out area”. The “in area” restriction was placed in effect in 1977 to give first consideration to residents who support the lake with their taxes. “Out area”  memberships are welcome as long as space is still available after all “in area” memberships have been processed.

Membership Fees are broken down into three parts

  • New Member Initiation Fee: New members pay an initiation fee when the first join the club. If a member drops out and returns later, he does not have to pay this fee a second time.
  • Club Dues: Each member pays annual club dues. The Club Dues finance the operation and services of the Club. Members are given the opportunity to reduce their Club Dues by helping with installation and removal the club docks during Spring and Fall Dock Days.
  • City Fee: A fee also must be paid to the City of Muncie for the use of the lake and for mooring a boat at the lake. The city specifies this fee each year. Members pay this fee through the Club with their annual application.
